Compression Therapy

Compression therapy is an integral part of managing venous insufficiency, deep vein thrombosis, superficial vein thrombosis, and venous obstruction. The most commonly used form of compression treatment is prescription strength graduated medical grade stockings. These come in knee high and thigh high denominations. Pantyhose are also available but the effective part is equivalent to knee high stockings.

All forms of compression treatments have to be individualized to provide the most benefit for the patient. Patients have to be fitted properly before dispensing. Modern compression therapy is very different from what existed just a few years ago. Our clinical staff are experts in fitting support hose and they spend time teaching each patient what they need to know to wear the hose successfully.

Some patients who cannot apply compression stockings may still achieve the necessary compression with other available form of compression therapy.
